About
For you dear reader:
Bites and Bolts was originally created as a home for food and product posts that couldn’t be easily filed on other sites. I’ve come to realize that on social network food sites reviewing takes a backburner. BBS food sites are great for exchanging information, but not well suited for photo integrated reviews, nor for grouping user’s reviews on any sort of fluid profile.
Out of necessity, Bites and Bolts was born. I’m an average person who has a healthy interest in food. Everyone has different tastes so it’s quite possible that we may not always(or ever) agree on what tastes good.
Bites and Bolts will also house short reads about my mechanical tinkerings from time to time, which sadly have been few and far between these days.
A word about my reviews:
I pay for all of my meals and drinks. If I do receive a complimentary item, I will note it. I don’t receive special treatment. I wait in line just like any other person. I deal with parking and valets. My food is plated just like any other person and it will look and taste only as good as the effort the chef is willing to put into it. The great thing about being just an average patron is my ability to observe an establishment in their day-to-day operations.
Where are you located?
Most of my entries will come from the LA Metro area.
What camera do you use?
The newest member of my arsenal is a Canon 5D Mark II. I also shoot with a Canon Digital Rebel XT(350D). I’m particularly fond of point-and-shoot cameras for their low profile abilities, and sometimes use a Sony DSC-T200. If all else fails, my Nokia N85 takes surprisingly good photos.
And truly, thanks for reading.
