Fosselman’s Ice Cream Company

Where yumminess happens

Ah…Fosselman’s! My only regret is that there isn’t one of these at every mall or corner complex in place of the normal corporate fare.

Fosselman’s is easy to find in a stand alone building on Main St, smack dab in between a Saturn dealer and Wells Fargo Bank. They have a small lot or the street in front of the joint for parking. I’ve only been in the evenings, and haven’t had a problem yet finding a space.

There is a comforting air about Fosselman’s. It’s the good vibes given off by decades of satisfied customers. Couples, friends, and family pack into the tables and booths to enjoy rich creamy ice cream paired with good conversation.

Excellent conversation starts with the topic at hand:the premium handmade ice cream. At last count on their site, they had 57 flavors of ice cream possibilities per day. Some are seasonal, so there’s always something new to try. They also offer sherbets, sorbets, and frozen yogurts. If you’re in the mooood for a root beer float, ice cream soda, shake, malt, or smoothie, they’ve got your back.

You can choose to enjoy your ice cream in just about any way-in a cake cone, sugar cone, waffle cone, bowl, banana split, or sundae of your choosing. I like my ice cream straight up. A single scoop in a sugar cone is a healthy serving at Fosselman’s. The traditional flavors such as mint & chip, real vanilla, cookies & cream are scrumptious. The exotic new school flavors like green tea, taro, and lychee are fresh and delicious. On my recent visit, I enjoyed a huge scoop of Mocha Almond Fudge. The ice cream had a faint taste of smooth coffee. The taste was completed with whole almonds and chunks of fudge.

My friend went out from his usual and ordered a cherry vanilla ice cream sundae with hot fudge, nuts, and a cherry on top. He let me try a bit. It was well-balanced, creamy, AWESOME! Fosselman’s cherry vanilla is a treat by itself. Coupled with hot fudge and crunchy peanuts, your mouth will dance!

Fosselman’s also stocks candy, cakes, hand-packed ice cream, sorbets, even upside-down ice cream cone clown faces! If you’re one of the lucky who live within a 15-mile radius of this joint, don’t be a stranger! I would go every week if I could, but traffic is a burn. Next time, I’ll have to grab a 1/2 gallon of their Ube ice cream. Yum.
